Zero(Joey ZaZa)- Creating Music
Meet our featured artist Zero, or also known as Joey ZaZa. He is a 25-year-old rapper from San Diego, California and he first started making music back in 2006 when he was around 11 years old. Unfortunately, his little brother died in 2019, and that is when he decided to take music more seriously. He and his brother had a special bond to music and this inspired him to teach himself how to produce songs. He then started working on his music at GlowStreet Studios in Myrtle Beach. Joey ZaZa’s passion for music is clearly shown in his work and he does a terrific job telling his story through his songs.
STYLE
His main genre of music is hip-hop, rap, and trap. He also likes to add his own twist to his songs.
His most successful song is “One Call.” It has over 20k views and is streaming now on Spotify. One of his most favorite songs that he has recorded is “Ride or Die” which sits at over 3 million plays on SoundCloud.
INSPIRATION
His main inspiration comes from underground Houston Rap which helps him ground himself in his songs. Artists that inspire him are Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Baby, Lil Keed, Morray, and Rick Ross.
Joey ZaZa is currently planning on releasing his new music video in the next 2–3 months. Last October, he dropped his first mixtape called “Drip Offensively” which has reflected his progression as an artist in the music industry. He defines his music as “Wave Trap” since he goes into the studio and records whatever music he wants to create and vibe to.
He states, “I don’t do music for money or fame, I do it because I truly enjoy doing it.”
He just wants to connect with his fans through story telling and making people feel what he is trying to portray in his music.
